Family Carers Team – August Update

The Family Carers team are incredibly excited to see restrictions lift, allowing the team to facilitate the monthly Support Groups, First Aid and Wellbeing Workshops, face to face in the community with more carers attending.

Last month we saw the launch of these groups, which all received brilliant feedback from carers who attended. The Support Groups will now continue once a month in the North, East, South, West and Centre of Birmingham.

The North, East and West of the City are held in the local parks, allowing us to invite more carers, enjoy the weather and even bring a picnic if you want! The South support group are off the enjoy a pub lunch this month, which has been a favourite in the South for many years.

The Central support group will get to enjoy the incredible Symphony Hall after the completion of a huge refurbishment, giving us the most amazing views of Birmingham City Centre.

As always, we continue to support many carers and families through 1-2-1 case work, completing Statutory Carers Assessments and Wellbeing Assessments, allowing us to ensure all the support needed is put in place for each individual family.

With the lift of restrictions, days out with the family are back! The Family Carers Team can allocate you a Max Card to receive discounts on your days out at a huge variety of places including: Flip Out, Go Ape, Drayton Manor, Lego Land, and many more.

To be eligible for the Max Card you must care for an induvial under the age of 25 and give consent for them to be registered on the Disabled Children’s Register.
