During Learning Disability Week we wanted to introduce you to more of our Community Teams.
Today we are meeting the Parkride Team. Parkride is our exciting West Midlands wide accessible cycling project.
We know that people lead busy lives, so finding time to take part in activities can be a real challenge. For families of children or adults with disabilities, it can be even more difficult to find activities, events and things to do.
Parkride is a Fun & Flexible inclusive cycling project that, regardless of age or need creates the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors through cycling!
Parkride will provide you with access to a range of adapted and mainstream bikes to enjoy cycling!
What are the benefits of parkride?
There are many benefits to people’s health & wellbeing by getting outdoors and cycling, but doing it together as an individual, family, or group is also great fun!
• Help you introduce regular exercise into your life
• Provide different routes and distances around the park and your local community, to suit your needs
• Help build your confidence as an individual, or family to take part
• Introduce you to other individuals and families, as we create a parkride community
So who is in the team?
The Team is supported by Dave Pickard (Head of Community Operations) and Pam Johnson (Operations Manager) and led by Steve Bradley (Coordinator), Steve has over 10 years experience working on disability sports projects and is joined by an equally experienced and passionate team comprising of Keith, Lara, Lucia, and Laura (in the photo) plus Helen and Neil (not in the photo).
