Sue Cook has been a regular customer to the Enterprise Hub for many years. Unfortunately, in the past year or so, Sue has been diagnosed with Dementia.
It got to the point where Sue was struggling to do her daily activities at home, at the Enterprise Hub and in general everyday life. She would become frustrated by loud noises and big crowds.
After speaking to her home and sharing our concerns, we all started to join together and share information to support Sue. She became involved with the SALT and Psychiatry teams and we recorded evidence to help understand her behaviours and communication better. Eventually we were able to work together to come up with a plan for Sue.
Because of this partnership working between Midland Mencap staff and other agencies, Sue is still able to come to the Enterprise Hub. We have helped her to maintain her independence, feel safe and still have fun.
