Job Title: After School Club Play Worker

Salary: £9.90 per hour

Employment Status: 16.25hrs per week

Responsible To: After School Club Facilitator

Location: Weoley Castle Community Centre, Bottetourt Rd, Birmingham B29 5TE.

Midland Mencap is looking to recruit a Play worker. This important role is to work as part of a team of playworkers delivering quality activities for Midland Mencap After School Club.

Are you a personable, caring, and professional individual who can engage with young children in an after-school club setting to deliver a quality service.

What does this role involve?

• To safely escort children at the appointed time and drop children at After School Club.

• To always ensure the safety of the children.

• To use the agreed route and pick up times.

• Assist with planning and preparing quality play opportunities.

• Assist with setting up play space, including moving furniture and play equipment.

• Engage with children on play activities and assist in the provision of hot meals/snacks.

• Facilitate good communication with all colleagues, parents, and the schools.

• Undertake appropriate and relevant training.

• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appointed person.

• Any other duty as appropriate to the role and identified by the organisation.
