What We Do

The Community Wellbeing Service provides support for adults with a Learning Disability to live safely in their own home, maintain health and access the local community.  Our highly skilled Lead Workers can meet you face-to-face and at times and locations that work for you.

Who Can We Support?

  • Adults with a Learning Disability.
  • Aged 18 or over.
  • Living in the Birmingham City Council local authority area.
  • *Subject to completion of a Needs Assessment.

What Can You Support Me With?

  • Maintaining your home.
  • Getting the right benefits.
  • Planning and managing a budget.
  • Registering and attending health appointments.
  • Information, advice and guidance.
  • Help understanding information.
  • Finding and accessing services in my local community.
  • Registering with a GP, Optician, Dentist and other health services

How Can I receive My Support?

  • Face-to Face
  • Over the phone
  • Zoom, Teams or Facetime
  • A mix of the above.

Good To Know:

  • You’ll have a regular, named Lead Worker.
  • You can pick the time and place for your support.
  • Access to a Oncall service.
  • Up to 4 hours support per week.
  • The service is free.

Tenancy Ready Suite

The Tenancy Ready Suite located at our Weoley Castle Community Centre offers people the opportunity to learn and use a range of daily living and practical skills in preparation for living independently. The suite has four zones, a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge. You will be supported by a trained and experienced staff member who will offer a range of practical advice and guidance that will allow you to become confident in your ability to manage your own home.

      To be eligible for this service, you must be:
    • Aged 18 or older.
    • Have a diagnosed learning disability.
    • Live within the Birmingham City Council local authority area. Check your postcode here.
